Length: approximately 40 minutes God's Galaxy of Love [Space music needed to open program] Deep-voice - Space - a boundless dark expanse extending in all directions. Within this darkness, aluminous lights placed by the Creator shine forth to give directions, signs of the times, and most importantly - to tell the story of (reverb effect) GOD'S GALAXY OF L-O-V-E. [At the cue of "signs of the times," a sign and a heart puppet are raised. The sign has the lettering "God's Galaxy of" and points to the back of a heart puppet displaying the word LOVE.] Heart - (turns around to face audience) Psst. Hey Bernie. Bernie Bright. That's your cue. [Heart again turns around to display the word LOVE; then, the sign and the Heart exits.] Bernie Bright - Huh, oh! (clears throat) Starlight tour guide, Bernie Bright here. I've been asked to assist you as we explore the galaxy of God's love. We will be making several stops on our tour and each time I hope to shine some light on the unconditional, unchanging, unselfish, and everlasting love of God. Our first stop will be with Ralph Colby and the Solar Flares - a musical group that delights in singing about God's wonderful love. Take it away Ralph! [Love is a Wonderful Thing - "RPM, Volume 4" (puppets performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - Love that song Ralph! You know, it's amazing how much one can use the word love. I love chocolate! I'd love to go to the dance with you. I love your ideas! I love telling jokes! Oh, hold on there! I really do love telling jokes. In fact, I know a few jokes that are a blast! Here's the first one. How do you get a baby astronaut to sleep? You rock-et! How about this one. What holds the moon up? Moon beams of course. Try this one. Why is space vacuum? To clean up all the stardust. Now here's one more. Why couldn't the spaceship land on the moon? The moon was full. Don't you love a funny joke? Whether it's jokes, chocolate, or new ideas, we seemed to love it. But do you know how to recognize real love? Let's stop in at a love workshop now in progress and see what we can learn. (space sounds) [Love Is. . ."Minute Manna for the Holidays; One Way Street" (puppets performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - What an interesting lesson! It seems that the world's description of love looses a great deal in the translation. God the Father tells us in His word that,". in Jesus, my love for you is revealed." (John 17:26) God loves us because He is Love. Since the beginning of tine, God has desired to develop a love relationship with you. Sin blocked you from that love relationship, but God's love reached out to you. He sent his only son Jesus to die for your sins, thus giving you the opportunity to receive God's amazing everlasting love. Be prepared travelers, our next stop is at the Starburst Café where God's Amazing Grace is always on the menu. (space sounds) [Amazing Grace - "Hip Hop Hymns for Kids by Brentwood Kids Company" (puppets performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - As we continue our journey..wait! What is that guy selling? Interstellar souvenirs? No. It's appears to be something else. Antennas? Satellite headwear? Whatever it is, it has certainly caught my attention. Let's move in closer and see what this space invader is promoting. [Sin Protection - "All-Star Compilation, by Puppet Productions" (puppets performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - Boy or boy! Selling sin protection. Was that guy light years from the truth or what? I'm glad he accepted that God's love is caring and unselfish. As we continue on our tour, it is going to be a little bit before we reach our next stop. That gives me just enough time to share a story with you. [Use props and or puppets to illustrate the story told by Bernie Bright. The story can be found as public domain on many Internet sites.] Bernie Bright - Once there was a pastor who was walking through town one day when he saw a young boy coming toward him swinging an old bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright. The pastor stopped the lad and asked, "What you got there son?" "Just some birds," came the reply. "What are you gonna do with them?" continued the pastor. "Take'em home and have some fun with'em," the boy answered. I'm gonna tease'em and pull out their feathers to make'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time." "But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?" "Oh, I got some cats," said the boy. "They like birds. I'll take'em to them." The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much much do you want for the birds?" "Hug??!!,gasp the boy." "Why, do don't want them birds. They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing - they ain't even pretty!" "How much?" the pastor asked again. "I guess $10" said the boy. The pastor paid the boy and in a flash the boy was gone. The pastor gently carried the bird cage to a beautiful grassy spot with a large tree. He opened the door of the cage and released the birds giving them their freedom. The next Sunday the pastor brought the bird cage to church and explained how he had gotten it. Then he proceeded to tell this story. One day satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir. I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap; used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got'em all!" "What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked. Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to hate and abuse each other. Show them how to get depressed and lonely. Take away their peace and make them fight and curse. I'm really gonna have some fun!" "And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, I'll kill them," satan glared proudly. "How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked. "Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you! You don't want those people!" "How much?" Jesus asked again. Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your tears, and all your blood." Jesus said, "DONE!" Then he paid the price. [Believe - "RPM, Volume 5" (puppet performing)] [Savior's Love - "Surfin The Gospel by Arm-Rod Productions" (puppetume performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - We're making good progress on our tour of the Galaxy of God's Love, travelers. There's only a couple more stops to make. So far we have seen God's love to be unselfish, unconditional, unchanging, unending, and caring. In 1 John 3:1, you can read that it is God's desire to lavish His love on you. He will do more for you than you could possibly image. Isaiah 40:11 reminds us that God carries you close to His heart. He is your provider and can meet your needs. The Father comforts you in all your troubles. He's your greatest encourager. He also has a plan for your future filled with hope. All this and more - God loves you with an everlasting love. Do you think my little talk sounds a whole lot like a sales pitch for a product? Let's make a quick stop and see how a real salesman would get you to see the truth. (space sounds) [Zero to Sixty - "Master Ads by Puppet Productions" (puppets and props)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright -Now that you have seen how wonderful and amazing God's love is, you need to know how to keep it active, ever present in your life. It's very simple; just give it away. Jesus' life manifested this perfect self-giving love. You have been commanded to love like Jesus did. Your love for other people must flow out of your love relationship with the Father. Whenever you are wronged, your flesh wants to seek revenge on whoever is coming against you. But this is not the response you are supposed to have. You are to return love for hate and pray for your enemies. It's not a conditioned response that will come easily unless you apply God's love to the situation. There is a charged-up power that comes into your life when you apply the concept of loving others. Walls will come down and impossible situations become resolved. It's the power of God's love! Our next stop is at the lab of Professor Electron. Here we'll find a trio of lab rats reminding us to plug in God's love! [Charged Up - "Charged Up! by Marc Hamman Ministries" (puppets performing)] (space sounds) Bernie Bright - Space travelers the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Did you also know that the shortest distance between two hearts is Love itself? I guess that's why God's Word commands us to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind as well as to love your neighbor as yourself. Well fellow space travelers, you have had quite a journey through God's Galaxy of Love! But keep this is mind - love is nothing outside of God for Love is of God. Let's make one final stop on our tour of the galaxy and move to the groove of The Three Atoms. [Walking with the Son - "RPM, Volume 6" ("other" puppet routine)] Bernie Bright - This concludes our tour of God's Galaxy of Love. Tell your friends about what your old tour guide, Bernie Bright has shown you today. And remember - God's love is for you!
