Length: approximately 15 minutes Easter Hit Parade Hello everyone and welcome to our Easter Hit Parade. Several artists will perform for you in today's musical parade of Easter songs. Each vocal artist has chosen a special song in which to share the good news of the Easter season. Leading off our Easter Hit Parade is the musical trio the Ring-A-Dings. Each member of this trio is a former phone company employee who knows how to reach out and touch someone special. They hope you will too after listening to their musical selection. Let's welcome the Ring-A-Dings singing the Easter Song. [The Easter Song - " Happenin' Holidays Through the Year, One Way Street"] Thank you Ring-A-Dings. Our next musical trio may be small in size but they know how important it is to stand tall on God's Word. Standing on the promises contained in God's Word is important for all of us to do. It's not enough just to know God provided for our salvation through His Son Jesus - we must receive that promise and stand on it. So give your attention to the little people with a big heart for God, the Biglittle Trio singing Standing On The Promises. [Standing On The Promises - "Happenin' Hymns, Volume 1, One Way Street"] Good job Biglittle Trio! The next vocal artist in our Easter Hit Parade is recognized in his neck of the woods as a "hare-raising" singer. Known only as The Bunny, our next singer has some hopping-strong opinions about the way the Easter holiday is observed. Listen carefully as The Bunny sings his own special song entitled, what else, The Bunny Song. [The Bunny Song - "Happenin' Holidays Through the Year, One Way Street"] (Bunny motions for the narrator to come over.) Excuse me folks. It looks as if The Bunny has something to tell me. (The narrator lean over and responds as if the Bunny is telling him something in his ear. The Bunny exits and the narrator take hisr place again making the introductions.) Well it looks like we have a little change in our program. The Bunny just informed me that he and some of his friends would like to do an additional song for you. The Bunny reminded me that all of God's creation praises God's glorious name. So let's join The Bunny and his animal friends praising God in the Hallelujah Chorus. (All the animals are wearing bunny ears) [Hallelujah Chorus - "Easter Puppet Trax by Jim Wideman"] Seeing all those, uh, Bunnies reminded me of some short rabbit jokes I heard the other day. Q. What do you call a rabbit who tells jokes? A. A funny bunny Q. What do you call a rabbit who plays with foxes? A. A dumb bunny Q. How do you catch a unique rabbit? A. Unique up on him Q. How do you catch a tame rabbit? A. Tame way Q. If a rabbit loses his soft fluffy tail, where would he go to get a new one? A. A retail store So much for my bunny humor. I don't believe I could make a living as a comedian with my rabbit jokes. I'd accumulate too many debts trying to survive. But there would be one debt I would not have to worry about paying. On Calvary, Jesus Christ paid a debt for my sin that I owed but could not pay. As we continue our Easter Hit Parade, our next singer shares with us about a debt Jesus paid for each one of us. Let's welcome Mr. Chris Cross singing, He Paid a Debt. [He Paid a Debt - "Easter Puppet Trax by Jim Wideman"] Thank you Chris! It's good to be reminded of the free gift of salvation Jesus provided for each of us. Like any present, this special gift has to be received. And once received, the gift must be used - not put on a shelf to gather dust and not exchanged for something else we think we want. The Pointers, our next trio of vocalists on the Easter Hit Parade, has selected a song that tells how they feel about following Jesus Christ. Let's listen as The Pointers sing, 'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus. ['Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus - "Puppet Trax # , by Jim Wideman"] Thanks guys! That song is an old-time classic with an up-to-date message for everyone! Well, I see by my notes that the Easter Hit Parade is coming to a close with our next song. Our last performance will be sung by Ralph Colby and The Witnesses. Their musical selection might be the final song of today's program, but it reminds us that there is nothing final about eternity. Thank goodness, Jesus Christ provided for our salvation throughout eternity. Now here is Ralph Colby and The Witnesses singing, Christ Arose. [Christ Arose -" Happenin' Holidays through the Year, One Way Street"] Thanks for joining us today for our Easter Hit Parade. We hope you have enjoyed each of the musical selections.
